AK Charters isn’t a corporate operation. It’s a family business run by people who grew up on the banks of the Klutina River and chose to make this place their life’s work.
We purchased King For A Day Campground in 2015 after growing up on this very property. Now going into our 11th year of ownership, we’ve expanded from a campground with fishing charters into a full Alaskan adventure outfitter offering guided float trips, fishing lessons, ATV tours, kayaking expeditions, and scenic floats.
Thousands of happy guests later, we’re still here doing what we love. Families come back to “their spot” every single year. We watch kids grow up. We see first-time anglers become repeat visitors. And we get to share the river that shaped us with people from all over the world.

Graham joins the KFAD crew after several years leading multi-week canoe expeditions in the Canadian north and guiding on horseback across the volcanic plateaus of the Chilean Andes. As a guide, he’s learned there’s nothing quite like bringing someone into a wild place for the first time. A lifelong angler, certified Wilderness First Responder, and Whitewater Rescue Technician, he’s chased trophy walleye and wild rainbow trout through the rivers of northern Ontario and Patagonia. He fell for the Klutina fast. A river with a long history, and something new to show you every time. There’s nowhere he’d rather be than on the river, and he can’t wait to put you on it and into the fish of a lifetime.
Will grew up in Tennessee, where a childhood spent in Scouting sparked a lifelong love for the outdoors. From learning to navigate, camp, hunt, and fish he carried that same passion for adventure all the way to the waters of Alaska. Will believes some of life’s best moments happen outside, and there’s nothing he loves more than helping others experience that for themselves — whether it’s their first cast or their first king salmon. You can catch Will on the water at KFAD, always ready to share the outdoors with someone new.
